The 2008 election was history-making in many ways.
Regardless of your alignment with President-elect Obama's views, we all have to agree that seeing a bi-racial man elected to the highest position in our country is an important step.
And, regardless of your opinion on the promises for which he raised a record-breaking amount of money, and the unprecedented grass-roots support he earned, it gives me optimism that even in a down economy, people are willing to support something they're passionate about with both their time and their resources.
Now, if only that kind of passion and resources could be put into programs and efforts that directly impact the health, security and opportunities for American people instead of government programs to do it for them... :)
Final note: Thanks to the support of those living in Big Walnut school district, Carson and his friends are going to enjoy a new elementary and middle school building. No more mods! And my fellow neighbors and I are hopefully going to see our property values go up, with a brand-new neighborhood school opening up within walking distance of our houses.
