This weekend was great - moments of contentment with four things that I can't, and don't want to, do without:
1. Jeff - When life gets busy, we get focused on what needs done when and don't free ourselves up to be silly. It was a nice, deep breath to have a quiet night at home Saturday that was just about laughing and being together (and watching the Olympics, of course!)
2. Carson - We played alot of 'choo choos' over the weekend - including making a cotton ball pillow and toilet paper sleeping bag so the 1" wooden fireman could take a nap. Also found 11 balls, 2 plastic boulders and a yellow bat under the couch, so had to play catch! He helped me sort laundry and I made 'wee-ooo, weee-ooo' firetruck noises when his train fell off the track. It was great.
3 - Me-time: Spent some time running errands and shopping Saturday afternoon, alone. Was nice to slow down and not be preoccupied with the snack stash/ how long it takes to eat them and get bored sitting in the stroller ratio.
4 - Family & Friends: Birthday party in the 'hood on Friday and a family reunion on Sunday. Have you become 'old'/ 'an adult' when you're OK with sitting around watching everyone else and asking 'so what are you up to now?' instead of running around feeding birds and dancing to a mix cd? Regardless, it's fun to watch the kids grow up and see where all my cousins have landed.
