Dreaming...

There was a story on NPR (my favorite radio channel in the mornings) about a guy at Carnegie Melon who geniusly connected online security access words with public libraries who are trying to digitize old books and records. Say you're on amazon.com and you have to type in a word or phrase to verify that you're a real person and not a virus or hacker? Those random words are actually digital pictures of pieces of books that need to be typed in so they're in digital format. You're doing the library's work - for free!

So I think - if I had unlimited time and resources to just come up with cool ideas, like this Carnegie Melon guy, what would I come up with?

1. Develop & market nursing pads for swimming. Baby mommas want to go swimming too! They'd be kind of like Little Swimmers pull-up pants, but without the Diego picture.

2. Set up a super-efficient sewing area that did not include a) dining room table, b) extension cords or c) random heavy toys for pattern weights. And open a cute boutique with fabric & wood items - toy chests, home dec, halloween costumes, etc. Maybe a Chick-fil-A in the back?

3. Create a PBS Kids show featuring Crazy Uncle Jason and Princess Aunt Julie. There's got to be something marketable about two music teachers: a super-hip, broadway-loving princess and a whacky, frisbee-throwing football fan.

4. Work with AAA and MLB to create long weekend, family road trip packages that include minor league baseball games, shopping at cool places, visits to historical sites and zoos! Hot dogs, history & hyenas - fun for all! :)

Not all practical, maybe, but fun to think about!
